Kaduna Commissions Water and Sanitation Facilities to Serve 30,000 Residents
The Kaduna State Government has commissioned new water and sanitation facilities in Jaba Local Government Area, benefiting over 30,000 residents across primary healthcare centers and schools.
Governor’s Commitment to Rural Development
Governor Uba Sani, represented by Engr. Mubarak Shehu Ladan, Director General of the Kaduna State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), emphasized that the project aligns with the state’s ‘Sustain Agenda’ for equitable rural development.
First Phase of SURWASH Programme
The facilities were delivered under the first phase of the Sustainable Urban and Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (SURWASH) programme, targeting six pilot local government areas. The next phase will expand to more communities and institutions across Kaduna State.

During the commissioning ceremony, Engr. Ladan stated: “Access to clean water and sanitation is not a privilege—it’s a right. By providing these facilities, we are investing in the health, dignity, and future of our rural communities.”
