Galatasaray Makes New Proposal to Keep Victor Osimhen for Another Season

Turkish Giants Push to Retain Nigerian Striker
Victor Osimhen is set to return to Napoli after his loan spell with Galatasaray concludes, but the Turkish champions are making a strong push to keep the Nigerian striker for at least one more season.
The 25-year-old forward has been in sensational form during his time in Istanbul, recently surpassing his personal best with 33 goals this campaign. His performances have attracted interest from top European clubs including Manchester United, but Galatasaray aren’t ready to let him go without a fight.
Galatasaray’s Three-Pronged Approach
According to Turkish journalist Eyup Yildiz, Galatasaray has presented Osimhen with a compelling three-part proposal:
- The club will match his €15 million annual salary demands
- He’ll be the focal point of their Champions League campaign next season
- The team will be built around his talents
Turkish commentator Ozgun Sancar revealed the club’s message to Osimhen: “Stay for one more year, let’s be successful in the Champions League. If you want, you can transfer to the Premier League again next season.”
Record-Breaking Season
Osimhen recently made history by scoring his 32nd and 33rd goals of the season in Galatasaray’s 4-1 victory over Sivasspor, breaking his previous personal best of 31 goals in a single campaign.

Coach’s Tactical Decision Sparks Debate
Head coach Okan Buruk’s decision to substitute Osimhen in the 70th minute against Sivasspor raised eyebrows, with some suggesting the striker was unhappy about being withdrawn while chasing more goals.
However, former referee Bunyamin Gezer defended the move: “If it were me, I would have taken Osimhen off during halftime. Coach Okan was right. Maybe he would have been injured, maybe suspended. Any talk of problems with Okan Buruk is all lies.”
What’s Next for Osimhen?
While Galatasaray are pushing hard to retain their star striker, Osimhen’s future remains uncertain. The Nigerian international has remained focused on team success, recently stating his desire to help Galatasaray secure a league and cup double this season.
With Napoli reportedly demanding his €75 million release clause be met, and several top European clubs monitoring the situation, the coming months promise to be crucial in determining where one of Africa’s most lethal strikers will play next season.
