Dangote and NASSI Collaborate to Boost Investments in Nasarawa State
Strategic Partnership for Economic Growth
The Nigeria Association of Small-Scale Industrialists (NASSI), Nasarawa State Chapter, has announced a strategic partnership with Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) to attract fresh investments to the state. This collaboration aims to strengthen economic development and create employment opportunities.
Dangote’s Existing Investments in Nasarawa
Dangote Industries Limited has already made significant investments in Nasarawa, including a 68,000-hectare sugarcane production project for its Sugar Company in Tunga. This represents Nigeria’s largest Backward Integration Policy (BIP) initiative in the sugar sector.
2025 Trade Fair and Exhibition
NASSI Chairman Nidan Sambo Manasseh revealed these developments during a press briefing in Lafia, the state capital, while discussing the upcoming 2025 Nasarawa Trade Fair and Exhibition sponsored by Dangote.
“We are actively exploring opportunities to deepen our collaboration with the Dangote Group, particularly in expanding employment programmes through youth and women skills acquisition and other vital support services,” Manasseh stated.
Economic Transformation Goals
The Nasarawa Trade Fair Exhibition (NASTFE) is designed to serve as a catalyst for the state’s economic transformation, aligning with Governor Abdullahi Sule’s vision to stimulate investment across all sectors.
“NASTFE serves as a premier platform to showcase Nasarawa State’s considerable potential, connecting discerning investors with its abundant natural resources and dynamic human capital,” Manasseh added.
Dangote’s Commitment to Nasarawa
In a statement by Chief Branding and Communication Officer Anthony Chiejina, the Dangote Group emphasized its commitment to Nasarawa State, which hosts the Nasarawa Sugar Company Limited (NSCL).
“The sugar project, when completed, will be one of the biggest sugar investments on the African continent,” the statement noted.
