Transcorp Reports N73.31 Billion Profit in Q1 2025, Revenue Surges 62%
Transnational Corporation Plc (TRANSCORP), Nigeria’s leading diversified conglomerate, has announced impressive unaudited financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2025, showcasing significant growth across its power, hospitality, and energy sectors.
Strong Financial Performance
The group recorded a 62% year-on-year revenue increase, reaching N143.7 billion in Q1 2025 compared to N88.5 billion in the same period last year. This growth was driven by outstanding contributions from its subsidiaries, particularly in the power sector.
Power Sector Leads Growth
Transcorp’s power businesses delivered a 70% revenue growth, generating N126.8 billion in Q1 2025 versus N74.8 billion in Q1 2024. Notably, Transafam Power, acquired in November 2020, achieved an exceptional 212% revenue surge, climbing from N6.9 billion to N21.4 billion year-on-year.
Hospitality Business Thrives
Transcorp Hotels maintained strong performance with revenue rising 52% to N21.0 billion from N13.8 billion in the prior year. The group’s gross profit also saw substantial growth, reaching N73.31 billion compared to N46.21 billion in Q1 2024.
Profitability and Outlook
Transcorp closed the quarter with a profit before tax (PBT) of N49.41 billion, demonstrating the resilience of its business operations. Dr. Owen D.
