Nasarawa Governor Abdullahi Sule to Contest Senatorial Seat in 2027, Aide Confirms
Governor’s Political Ambition Revealed
The Director-General of Nasarawa State Bureau for Pension Administration, Suleiman Nagogo, has officially announced that Governor Abdullahi Sule will be contesting for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in the 2027 elections.
Mr. Nagogo made this revelation on Tuesday during a meeting with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Wamba Local Government Area of the state.
Governor’s Direct Communication
“I have been in Wamba with a crystal clear message from His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule,” Nagogo stated. “That important message is to inform them that he is desirous of contesting for the office of Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2027.”
Committee Formed for Senatorial Bid
The governor’s aide further disclosed that Governor Sule has already appointed a committee to oversee his senatorial campaign project. However, Nagogo noted that the committee is still in its early stages of operation.
“That committee is still a committee of work in progress because we have yet to reach any reasonable milestone in the process of executing this project,” he explained.
Focus on Home Support
Emphasizing the importance of local support, Nagogo added: “But I consider it imperative that, as the saying goes, charity begins at home. I should be able to take it upon myself to call on my own people of Wamba Local Government and inform them about this project.”
Highlighting Governor’s Achievements
Nagogo used the opportunity to showcase Governor Sule’s developmental achievements across Nasarawa State, particularly in the Nasarawa North senatorial district.
“At least, we need no emphasis to make our people realise the massive transformation he has carried out in Lafia, the state capital,” Nagogo stated. He also highlighted the governor’s accomplishments in agriculture and solid mineral exploration.
