Defence Chief Warns of Jihadist Threat in Sahel Region

Military Leader Calls for National Unity Against Extremism
Christopher Musa, Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, has issued a stark warning about jihadist groups attempting to take control of the Sahel region during a recent church service in Abuja.
Address at Conquerors Global Assembly
Speaking at the newly established Conquerors Global Assembly founded by former Winners Chapel vice-president David Abioye, General Musa emphasized the critical need for national unity and prayer in the face of regional security challenges.
“The Sahelian region and West Africa are facing unprecedented challenges by the jihadists and they are hellbent on taking over,” Musa stated. “God will never allow them to succeed. We need our prayers.”
Call to Action for Nigerians
The defence chief made several key points during his address:
- Urged Nigerians to love their country and maintain unity
- Called for consistent prayer to preserve national stability
- Encouraged Christians to openly profess their faith
- Asserted that Nigeria remains a target for destabilization efforts
“This is a blessed country. Everybody knows Nigeria is great,” Musa said. “Some people are not happy that Nigeria is still standing.”
