Benue Governor Appoints 2Baba as Technical Adviser on Entertainment
Music Icon to Serve as Community Outreach Advisor
Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has appointed legendary Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, as the Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach.
The announcement came during 2Baba’s visit to the Government House on Wednesday, where Governor Alia expressed appreciation for the artist’s support of his administration and 2027 political ambitions.
Governor Praises 2Baba’s Influence
“Let me thank you for supporting my administration and for proclaiming me for 2027,” Governor Alia stated during the appointment ceremony.
The governor highlighted 2Baba’s cultural impact, noting: “You are a guru of entertainment. Once you say ‘2face’ people start dancing, even without you singing.”
Expanding the Artist’s Role
Governor Alia emphasized that the appointment recognizes 2Baba’s consistent support and capacity to contribute more to state development:
“We are happy you’re here. On behalf of the state government and our people, I want to give you some more responsibility,” the governor said.
The new role will leverage 2Baba’s experience and influence to enhance community engagement and entertainment sector development in Benue State.
