Bello Pledges Support for Tinubu’s Re-election

Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has publicly declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s potential re-election bid in 2027. In a statement released by his media office, Bello praised the President’s performance despite global economic challenges.

The statement, signed by Ohiare Michael, Director of Yahaya Bello Media Office, emphasized: “On merit, he deserves the support of well-meaning Nigerians.” Bello commended Tinubu’s administration for delivering “exceedingly well for the country” based on what he described as “undeniable indices.”

Dismissing False Reports

The former governor strongly denied circulating rumors suggesting he was preparing to challenge Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. His media team described recent online posts featuring old rally images as “senseless fabrications” by detractors.

“Nigerians should be wary of witless bloggers who concoct stories without thinking,” the statement read, pointing out that the images being circulated were actually from a 2022 event.

Commitment to APC Unity

Bello’s statement made his position unequivocally clear: “Our Principal has no 2027 presidential ambition” and remains “unflinchingly committed to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027.”

The former governor’s team urged the public to disregard what they called “mischievous posts” aimed at creating unnecessary tension within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
