Gunmen Kill 25, Injure Many in Fresh Plateau Attack
In a tragic incident early Monday morning, suspected Fulani militia gunmen attacked Kimakpa Village in Miango District, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, leaving at least 25 dead and several others injured.
Details of the Attack
Eyewitnesses reported that hundreds of heavily armed assailants stormed the community, indiscriminately killing men, women, and children. One survivor who escaped into nearby bushes described how the attackers arrived on motorcycles and began shooting sporadically.
Security Response
Nigerian Army troops, led by the Sector Commander, along with police and Mobile Force units stationed at Miango, responded swiftly to distress calls. Security forces engaged the attackers in a gun duel, successfully repelling the assault.
A security official stated: “Following the confrontation, we recovered 25 corpses while four injured victims were rushed to the hospital. Troops have launched a manhunt and are combing nearby forests to apprehend the perpetrators.”

This attack follows another deadly incident days earlier where gunmen killed over 70 people across several communities in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
