Security Crisis Takes Center Stage Ahead of NEC Session

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) is currently holding a crucial emergency meeting in Abuja to address the nation’s worsening security situation. The gathering comes just before Thursday’s National Executive Council (NEC) session, with state executives prioritizing discussions on the rampant killings and property destruction plaguing various regions.

Military Leadership Briefs State Executives

The high-level meeting, which commenced late Wednesday evening after 9 p.m., featured a security briefing by Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa. The military leader arrived at 9:57 PM to present a comprehensive overview of current security challenges and potential solutions to the assembled governors.

In addition to security matters, Housing Minister Ahmed Dangiwa was scheduled to address the governors during the session. The meeting saw participation from numerous state executives, including the governors of Kwara, Edo, Imo, Zamfara, Oyo, Ogun, Nasarawa, and Bayelsa states.
