When The Industry Newspaper released its prestigious Top 50 Men of Impact 2025 list, one name stood apart—not for corporate campaigns or boardroom victories, but for documenting human resilience in the world’s most dangerous places.
That name was Adedeji Ademigbuji, a Nigerian journalist turned humanitarian communicator who now serves as Public Information and Reporting Officer for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Ukraine. His recognition highlights the critical role of storytelling in crisis zones—from conflict and hunger in northeast Nigeria to climate displacement in Somalia and the full-scale war in Ukraine.

Before his current posting in Ukraine, Ademigbuji worked with the World Food Programme and OCHA in northeast Nigeria, documenting the human cost of the long-running conflict driven by non-state armed groups. His features have given voice to displaced families, frontline responders, and communities grappling with food insecurity exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The award ceremony, held on November 4, 2025, at Radisson Blu in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, emphasized the organizers’ mission to recognize men demonstrating leadership, innovation, and positive societal influence while promoting balance in demanding professional environments.
Ademigbuji’s career has been marked by several journalism accolades, including the Schneider Electric Award for Reporting on Electrical Counterfeiting in Africa. But his current work represents a deeper commitment—bridging the gap between distant conflicts and global consciousness.
