Rising Death Toll and Response

Hon. Modu Mustaph, Chairman of Chibok LGA, confirmed the attack and warned the death toll may increase as search operations continue. “Many injured victims have been evacuated to Mubi General Hospital in Adamawa State. We are preparing for a mass burial on Tuesday,” he stated.

Escalating Violence in Borno

This attack follows a surge in violence across southern Borno, including recent IED explosions along the Gamboru Ngala-Kala Balge road that killed multiple people. Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume expressed grave concern, revealing over 100 deaths in coordinated attacks across various communities in the past month.

Humanitarian Crisis

The latest violence has forced mass displacement, with residents fleeing to neighboring towns and IDP camps for safety. Despite government claims of progress against insurgency, these attacks highlight the persistent threat of Boko Haram in Nigeria’s North-East region.
