The 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) dazzled audiences on Saturday, May 10, at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, celebrating the best of African cinema with glamorous red carpet arrivals and spectacular performances.
A Night of Glitz and Entertainment
The event kicked off at 4 PM with celebrities showcasing stunning fashion looks before transitioning to the main ceremony at 7 PM. Nigerian music stars Johnny Drille and Kunmie from Arike’s Star delivered memorable performances that electrified the audience.

Expanded Categories and New Honors
The 2025 edition featured 28 award categories, with 18 decided by industry professionals and 10 through public voting. This year introduced the Best Music Score category, recognizing outstanding composers and sound designers in film and television.
