Bello Pledges Support for Tinubu’s Re-election Bid

Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has publicly declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s potential re-election campaign in 2027. In a statement released by his media office, Bello praised the president’s performance despite global challenges.

The statement, signed by Ohiare Michael, Director of Yahaya Bello Media Office, emphasized: “Based on undeniable indices, President Tinubu and his team have done exceedingly well for the country. On merit, he deserves the support of well-meaning Nigerians.”

Dismissing False Reports

The media office strongly refuted recent online reports suggesting Bello was preparing for a 2027 presidential run. The statement described these claims as “fabricated falsehood” by detractors attempting to create division between Bello and President Tinubu.

“They have tried so hard in their ‘bring-him-down-at-all-costs’ mission against the immediate past Governor of Kogi State but have always failed woefully,” the statement read.

Clarifying Misinformation

The media office pointed out that some reports had misleadingly repurposed images from a 2022 rally to suggest current political activity. “In their desperate bid to create crisis where there is none, they forgot the 2022 dates written boldly on the banners,” the statement noted.

Bello’s team urged Nigerians to disregard what they called “the mischievous post insinuating a fresh presidential support rally,” reaffirming their principal’s commitment to Tinubu’s potential re-election campaign.

The statement concluded: “While we state categorically that our Principal has no 2027 presidential ambition, we want to also stress his unflinching commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027.”
