In a continuous effort to fortify youth leadership and institutional governance, the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) – Africa Regional Office, in strong collaboration with The Scout Association of Nigeria (TSAN), is rolling out a series of intensive capacity-building initiatives aimed at empowering key scouting officers across the nation.
This strategic partnership underscores a shared commitment to enhancing organizational efficiency, safety, and impactful communication within the scouting movement in Nigeria.
This upcoming initiative follows on the heels of a successful high-level GSAT (Global Support Assessment Tool) Assessment and Strategic Planning training held in May 2026 in Abuja. That foundational exercise equipped selected National Scout Organization (NSO) key officers with the critical evaluation tools necessary to streamline administration and set long-term strategic goals.
To further solidify these gains, WOSM and TSAN have announced a Three-Day Intensive Training Programme specifically curated for selected leaders of TSAN. This upcoming session will focus on two foundational pillars of modern scouting:
1. Safe from Harm: Institutionalizing world-class child protection, safety protocols, and well-being frameworks to ensure a secure environment for all young members.
2. Communication: Developing dynamic internal and external communication strategies to amplify the visibility, impact, and reach of scouting across Nigeria.
By investing in these targeted workshops, WOSM Africa and TSAN are establishing a resilient leadership framework capable of guiding the next generation of Nigerian youth. United under the theme—”Our Vision. Our Impact. Our Future.”—this partnership ensures that scouting in Nigeria remains safe, dynamic, and fully aligned with international standards
