The UK’s Immigration White Paper outlines sweeping reforms designed to curb legal migration, with particular implications for Nigerians who form a substantial portion of the UK’s migrant community. Notable changes include:

- Extended settlement route for migrants
- Reduced time limit for graduate visa routes
- Mandatory English proficiency tests for dependents
British High Commission’s Response
The British High Commission in Nigeria has confirmed it will collaborate with relevant Federal agencies to discuss implementation details of the new policy. In an official statement, the Commission emphasized:
