Governor Credits Royal Fathers for Security Success
Governor Uba Sani has revealed that traditional leaders played a pivotal role in the success of Kaduna State’s non-kinetic approach to tackling insecurity, emphasizing their intelligence-sharing efforts with security agencies.
The Governor stated that Kaduna has become one of Nigeria’s most peaceful states, with no recorded ethno-religious or communal clashes in the past two years. He made these remarks during a vehicle distribution ceremony for 23 traditional leaders at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.
Vehicles Distributed to Strengthen Security Efforts
“Our traditional leaders have been working tirelessly, sharing intelligence with security agents and maintaining close community ties,” Governor Sani said. “This collaboration is why our non-kinetic security approach has been effective.”
The Governor emphasized that without traditional leaders’ support, Kaduna wouldn’t have achieved its current security stability. “These vehicles serve as motivation and tools to enhance your work,” he added, highlighting the importance of synergy between traditional institutions, religious leaders, and security agencies.
Political Collaboration Yielding Results
Governor Sani commended House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas for facilitating the vehicle distribution, noting the importance of political collaboration. He recalled bringing over N20 billion in interventions to Kaduna during his Senate tenure, including a N12 billion Engineering Faculty project at Kaduna State University.
“Though we couldn’t complete the project before leaving the Senate, Speaker Abbas and CBN Deputy Governor Mohammed Sani Abdullahi Dattijo are working to see it through,” the Governor explained, showcasing the power of political synergy.
Speaker Abbas Highlights Governance Focus
Speaker Abbas described the vehicle distribution as part of broader efforts to strengthen traditional rulers’ role in peacebuilding and governance. “This fulfills our shared commitment to support traditional leaders,” he stated.
The vehicles, provided by SMEDAN, mark the fourth phase of distribution, bringing the total to 23. Abbas clarified these aren’t ceremonial gifts but essential working tools for traditional leaders to enhance their peacekeeping efforts.
