NDLEA Recovers N1.042bn Worth of Canadian Loud in Lagos Hotel Raid
Massive Drug Bust in Victoria Island
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made a significant breakthrough in its fight against drug trafficking, recovering 589 bags of Canadian Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, with a total weight of 417.3 kilograms worth an estimated N1.042 billion in street value.
Hotel Used as Drug Distribution Center
The operation was conducted at a five-storey hotel building located at 16 Waziri Ibrahim Street, off Elsie Femi Pearse Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. The establishment, known as The Hook Hotel (also referred to as Caesar Hotel and Caesar Lounge), was reportedly being used as a front for distributing illicit substances.
Arrests Made, Suspects at Large
NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi confirmed that three suspects were arrested during the operation which took place between Friday 25th and Saturday 26th April 2025. The arrested individuals include:
- Eze Ayitu
- Ofuokwu Samuel
- Emmanuel Ameh
Two other suspects, Noble Philip and his partner Kenneth, remain at large.
Seized Assets and Proceeds
The raid yielded significant assets believed to be proceeds from the illicit drug trade, including:
- Toyota Prado Landcruiser Jeep (Lagos AKD 472 OZ)
- Toyota Sienna Vehicle (Lagos KJA 79 HJ)
- Volkswagen Delivery Van (Lagos AAA 525 JE)
- Kia Ceranto Car (Lagos BDG 860 GQ)
- Grand Caravan Dodge (Lagos APP 847 YF)
- 74 new TV sets
- 10 used TV sets
- 13 refrigerators
This operation marks one of the NDLEA’s most significant drug busts in recent times, dealing a major blow to drug trafficking operations in Lagos.
