NABTEB Partners with NASENI to Digitize Examination Processes in Nigeria
The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has entered a strategic partnership with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) to modernize its examination systems through digital transformation.
Collaboration for Digital Transformation
The agreement, announced in a statement by NABTEB’s Assistant Director of Media and Protocol, Uchechukwu Olisah, was formalized during a meeting on April 29 at NABTEB’s headquarters in Benin.
Dr. Aminu Mohammed, Registrar and CEO of NABTEB, emphasized that this initiative aligns with the federal government’s directive to fully digitize examinations by 2026. “As Nigeria’s leading examination body for craft and technical certifications, we require robust ICT infrastructure to maintain excellence in our operations,” Mohammed stated.
Government Mandate Drives Urgency
The upgrade comes as part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Education Ministry’s push for Computer-Based Testing adoption by 2026. “This digital transformation is critical to achieving the Honourable Minister of Education’s vision for functional education,” Mohammed added.
NASENI has committed to delivering a fully equipped ICT facility within six months, following earlier discussions between the agencies in Abuja. Mohammed expressed confidence that this partnership would enhance examination security, reduce processing times, and minimize human errors.
NASENI Pledges Full Support
Bashir Aliyu, Special Adviser on Emerging Technology to NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment: “We successfully implemented digitization at NASENI and are ready to help NABTEB achieve the same transformation through cutting-edge ICT solutions.”
Since assuming office in March, Dr. Mohammed has prioritized digitization as key to improving NABTEB’s operational efficiency and maintaining the integrity of its examinations.
