Student Returns Home After Disappearance En Route to JAMB Exam

A female candidate for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) who was reported missing has been found safe, according to family sources.

The Disappearance

The incident began on Thursday when Esther Oluwafayofubmi Oladele was traveling from Epe to Ajah in Lagos ahead of her scheduled 9 am Friday examination. The student sent a concerning message to a family member stating: “I’m scared. I think I entered the wrong car. My eyes are itchy and I feel sleepy.”

Family’s Response

A relative identified as Johnson took to social media to raise awareness about the disappearance. The family reported the case at Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah, where authorities advised them to continue searching while they conducted their investigation.

Positive Outcome

In a follow-up post on Saturday, Johnson confirmed that Esther had safely returned home. While details surrounding her disappearance remain unclear, the family expressed relief at her safe return.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and Lagos police had not responded to inquiries about the incident at the time of reporting.
