Lojay Wins ‘Best Vocal Performance (Male)’ at 17th Headies Awards

Nigerian singer Lekan Osifeso Junior, popularly known as Lojay, secured the prestigious ‘Best Vocal Performance (Male)’ award at the 17th Headies Awards ceremony held on Sunday night. The event took place at the Eko Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.

A Competitive Victory

The non-voting category recognized the male artist with the most outstanding vocal performance on a single song or album during the year under review. Lojay triumphed over strong contenders including:

  • Omah Lay’s “Moving”
  • Johnny Drille’s “For You”
  • Timi Dakolo’s “Ke Na Ke So”
  • Anendlessocean’s “Gratitude”

Lojay’s Acceptance Speech

In his heartfelt acceptance speech, Lojay expressed gratitude and emphasized the importance of industry structure:

“Thank God Headies is back to base. I think this is something that we need to focus on as artists, just to bring back as much structure as possible to our industry, and this is like the first step in the right direction.”
