Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrests in an official statement on Thursday, revealing that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) apprehended one male and four female suspects on charges of abduction and child stealing.

How the Crime Unfolded

The case originated from a May 5 complaint filed at Ajah Division, where a family member reported that their 16-year-old cousin had been impregnated by an unknown individual. Due to financial difficulties, the teenager’s mother had entrusted her to a guardian until delivery.

“Investigation revealed the guardian conspired with four others to relocate the girl to an unknown location,” Hundeyin explained. “When she was eventually found, she was without her pregnancy and the baby.”
