Governor Zulum Returns to Marte as 200,000 Residents Resume Normal Life
Borno Governor Commends Swift Federal Response to Security Concerns

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has returned to Marte Local Government Area where over 200,000 displaced residents are gradually returning following improved security measures in the region.
Security Restoration Efforts Yield Results
The governor’s visit comes days after his urgent appeal to the Federal Government to prevent Marte from falling into insurgent control. Since last Saturday, Governor Zulum has personally visited nine communities including Kala-Balge, Wulgo, Ngala, and Dikwa to assess security situations and coordinate humanitarian efforts.
“I am here to monitor the efficacy of our resettlement program,” Zulum stated during his inspection. “I’m pleased to report the community is fully returning, soldiers are deployed, and economic activities are resuming in Marte.”

Federal Government’s Swift Action Praised
The governor expressed gratitude for the prompt response from federal authorities: “The Federal Government and Nigerian Armed Forces have positively addressed our security requests. We’ve witnessed significant troop deployments and equipment reinforcements.”
Zulum particularly commended military cooperation: “Without the Armed Forces’ support, our peace restoration efforts wouldn’t have been possible. I appreciate all stakeholders contributing to normalcy in our communities.”
The governor’s latest visit included closed-door meetings with military commanders to strategize on maintaining security in the Lake Chad region and facilitating sustainable development for returning residents.
