The remains of the late President touched down at Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport, Katsina, aboard Nigerian Air Force Flight 5N-FGT 001 at approximately 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. The aircraft carried Buhari’s body from the United Kingdom, where he passed away after a brief illness.

Current Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led the delegation receiving the former leader’s remains. He was joined by Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda and Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe in this solemn moment.
