Zamfara State Partners with Oracle to Boost Digital Skills and Youth Development
Historic Agreement Signed in London
The Zamfara State Government has entered into a landmark partnership with global technology giant Oracle to enhance youth development, workforce capacity building, and the digital economy through Oracle University’s Skills Development Initiative (SDI).
The agreement was formally signed on Tuesday, April 29, at Oracle’s offices in London, United Kingdom, marking a significant step in the state’s digital transformation agenda.
Collaboration with ZITDA
According to a statement by Governor Dauda Lawal’s spokesman, Suleiman Idris, the partnership will facilitate collaboration between the Zamfara Information and Technology Development Agency (ZITDA) and Oracle.
“This collaboration represents both an educational commitment and a strategic investment in Zamfara’s youth, workforce, and digital future,” the statement emphasized.
Educational Resources and Curriculum Integration
Through Oracle’s global philanthropic educational program, the initiative will provide:
- Comprehensive technology education resources
- Curriculum materials and software access
- Support for higher education institutions across Zamfara
ZITDA will spearhead efforts to incorporate Oracle Academy offerings into local higher education curricula, preparing educators to guide students toward professional certifications and hands-on tech skills development.
Skills Development Initiative Benefits
The Oracle University SDI program will offer Zamfara residents:
- Free access to digital learning paths
- Foundational certifications in high-demand fields
- Over 200 hours of professional training in Cloud, AI, Data Science, and APEX development
A co-branded learning portal developed in collaboration with ZITDA will serve as the platform for these educational resources.
Governor Lawal’s Vision
Governor Lawal described the partnership as a crucial component of his administration’s plan to establish Zamfara as a center of innovation and digital excellence.
“This initiative goes beyond technology—it’s about creating opportunities and unlocking potential,” the Governor stated. “We’re offering alternatives to poverty and joblessness through digital education.”
