Former US President Barack Obama’s preferred music of 2024 includes two Nigerian artists, Rema and Asake.
On Saturday, the former American president posted a list of his favorite songs for 2024, which included Rema’s ‘Yayo’ and Asake’s ‘Active’ featuring Travis Scott.
Tyla, a South African singer, also reached the list with her song ‘Jump’, which features Gunna and Skillibeng.
Nigerian-American singers Shaboozey and Jordan Adetunji made the list with their songs ‘A Bar Song’ and ‘Kehlani.’
The usual suspects like Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, and Karol G all made the cut with a song each.
Sharing his list via X, Obama wrote, “Here are my favorite songs from this year! Check them out if you’re looking to shake up your playlist – and let me know if there’s a song or artist I should make sure to listen to.”
