The Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN) has concluded arrangements to host its 25th Anniversary celebrations in Akwa Ibom State.
The event, originally scheduled to take place in 2024, was postponed to honour the late First Lady, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Umo Eno, whose funeral was held that year.
Speaking with journalists in Uyo, the Association’s Director of Socials, Amb. Johnpaul Nwanganga, reaffirmed the decision to hold the historic event in Akwa Ibom this year.
He stated that the exact date and venue for the event would be announced later.
Nwanganga added that the group is collaborating with the Akwa Ibom State Government to ensure the event’s success, highlighting the administration’s commitment to promoting the arts, talents, and entertainment in the state.
“There’s no going back on our choice of Akwa Ibom State to host the 25th anniversary celebrations of our great guild. To further pay tribute to the late First Lady, the DGN has decided to move forward with the event in Akwa Ibom this year.

He disclosed that Akwa Ibom State has assured its full support, promising to deliver its renowned hospitality and ensure guests have an unforgettable experience.
“Akwa Ibom, we’re bringing the magic! The DGN @ 25 celebration in Akwa Ibom is expected to attract visitors from across the country, providing a platform for cultural exchange, networking, and celebrating Nollywood’s achievements,” he stated.
