Spread the love

In a heartwarming display of cultural unity and community development, the four villages of Amafor village in Imerienwe of Imo State came together on December 27th for their annual Amafor Day celebration.  This year, under the visionary leadership of Engr. Kelechi Eke, the festival showcased a unique blend of ancient traditions and modern innovations.

Beyond mere festivities, Amafor Day emphasizes community development. Villagers contribute to projects through a structured donation system, reflecting the belief that “it takes a village.”

This year’s highlights included the inaugural “Miss Amafor” pageant, offering a scholarship to the winner, Barr. Eustace Odunze and Dr.(Mrs) Ada Ukaegbu, and promoting female empowerment within the community.

The celebration witnessed a vibrant display of cultural heritage, featuring traditional dances, masquerades, and colourful attire. Dignitaries, including HRH Eze Augustine Ekechi, Ijienwe II of Imerienwe, and Dr. Mathew Nwogu, graced the occasion.
