Leslie Hackman, the daughter of the late Hollywood star Gene Hackman, has revealed that her father was in good health before his passing.
Gene Hackman, who was 95, was found dead alongside his wife and their dog on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in their New Mexico residence.
Speaking on his death, Leslie disclosed that The French Connection star was in good physical condition and that he did Pilates and yoga.
“Despite his age, he was in very good physical condition. He liked to do Pilates and yoga, and he was continuing to do that several times a week. So, he was in good health,” she said to the Daily Mail.
Leslie further stated that her famous father’s demise didn’t come as a shock to her because of his age. However, his wife, Betsy Arakawa was 64.
Leslie also shared that while her dad was healthy, his memory was already fading.
“He recently had a birthday and apparently his wife had to remind [him] three times it was his birthday,” she stated.
She described the couple’s death as “very strange” as they “never” had an issue at their home.
“I much would have rather my dad pass peacefully, but hopefully if it was carbon monoxide poisoning [there was] no suffering with that. That’s my main concern,” Leslie added.
