Afrobeats singer, Adekunle Gold has voiced profound worry over the present situation of Nigeria’s music industry.
He argued that the music industry was being directed by the wrong people, highlighting how artists, producers, and other creatives are being dominated by non-musicians.
He emphasized that the wrong people dominate the debate, perpetuating false narratives about the business. This, he explained, is why brilliance is undervalued and mediocrity thrives.
On his X handle, he wrote, “People who have no business leading music conversations are now controlling and destroying the industry.
“Artists, producers, and real contributors are being overshadowed by people who don’t create, don’t understand, and don’t respect the craft.
“When the wrong people lead the conversation, they push the wrong narratives. That’s why real talent is overlooked, and mediocrity thrives. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
