Following her remarkable second-place finish at the just concluded Miss Universe contest, beauty queen Chidimma Adetshina has revealed why she won’t participate in future pageantries.
In a recent chat with Silverbird Television, the South African-born Nigerian who was crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania said it was a traumatic experience.
Adetshina disclosed that she never wanted to participate in the contest, adding that she intends to focus on herself and further her education.
“Honestly, I am done with pageantry. It was really a traumatic experience for me.
“People don’t really get to understand how I felt; I was really down and I didn’t want to do Miss Universe.
“But I’m really done with pageantry and I want to focus on myself and who I am and to further my education as well.
“Hopefully, there is something in store for me, but I’m really glad I left on a really great note,” she stated.
South Africans claimed that she wasn’t one of them and that her mother had stolen the identification of somebody else despite her being born in the country.
After withdrawing from the Miss South Africa beauty pageant in August 2024, she opted to represent her father’s country in the Miss Universe competition, finishing in second place.
