Social Media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman, has spoken addressed the issue surrounding Davido’s recent statements regarding Nigeria.

The music artist created a heated controversy after granting an interview in which he expressed concerns about Nigerians in America returning home.

In a video response, VeryDarkMan slammed Reno Omokri, Patrick Doyle, and others who criticized Davido, claiming that they spoke without thinking.

He contended that Davido’s comments were not entirely off the mark, given the current state of insecurity and economic instability in Nigeria.

VeryDarkMan underlined the importance of contextual knowledge, arguing that Davido’s remarks should be considered in light of the country’s current concerns.

He contended that the artist could have begun by addressing the topic of insecurity in Nigeria, which would have presented a more nuanced perspective on the situation.

The activist also used the opportunity to highlight Nigeria’s economic woes, highlighting the departure of big brands and companies from the country.

He listed several firms that had left Nigeria in 2024, including Cusson, Kimberly-Clark, and Microsoft, attributing their departure to the challenging business environment.

VeryDarkMan painted a stark picture of the economic reality in Nigeria, revealing that many citizens were struggling to survive on less than $5 per week.

He shared prices of basic food items, highlighting how many people could no longer afford to purchase them.

In a stern warning, VeryDarkMan cautioned critics to refrain from dragging Davido, emphasizing that the music star had not lied in his interview.

He reiterated that Davido’s comments, although imperfect, were rooted in a deeper understanding of Nigeria’s complexities.

Sharing the video on his Instagram page, he wrote: “@davido for your next interview add insecurity to the economy shambles @renoomokri ogun kpai v, @ PATRICK DOYLE SO BECAUSE DAVIDO’s father has a 2 billion dollar investment plant in Nigeria he should lie that everything is okay in Nigeria? Sometimes is just wild how these older people just talk anything they like without thinking.”
