Toyin Abraham’s recently released film ‘Alakada! Bad & Boujee’ garnered N58 million in its first weekend at the box office.
The movie, which is the fifth part of the Alakada series, was released in cinemas nationwide on December 20.
Abraham took to X on Monday to thank fans for their persistent support over the film’s opening weekend.
She also emphasized how the feat was accomplished without using incentives to boost ticket sales.
“With an overwhelming outpouring of love, kindness, and compassion from fans all across the country, we were able to make this as our opening weekend figure,” she wrote.
“Thank you for watching and supporting us. Without expecting gift or inducement at the box office to buy our tickets, you’ve stood by us, and we are deeply grateful.”
She further noted the film’s limited theatre release, urging fans to spread the word and continue to support it.
“However, we’ve learned that #AlakadaBadAndBoujee isn’t showing in many cinemas.
“Nigerians, thank you from the bottom of my heart! This support means the world to me. Please, let’s keep the momentum going—spread the word far and wide.”
