The Labour Party has declared that the 2027 presidential election will not be an easy battle for Bola Tinubu as Peter Obi remains its candidate.
While appearing on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’, LP’s National Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Arabambi declared that the choice of Obi is a message to show how serious the party is.
“Tinubu is not just going to have it very easy in 2027, we are coming back with that Peter Obi to them so that they will know we are very serious,” he stated.
Arabambi who criticised Kenneth Okonkwo’s decision to leave the party called his exit a relief as the plan is to remove the current administration in 2027.
While questioning Okonkwo’s loyalty, he alleged that the actor-turned-politician was working for President Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“And we wish Kenneth Okonkwo well, his resignation is good riddance to bad rubbish. He should not speak about the Labour Party anymore.
“There is no leadership crisis in the Labour Party. Labour Party is not going into extinction. It is just a figment of the imaginations of most of our detractors,” Arabambi added.
