One of my favourite Christmas memories as a child was gathering with my extended family in the village. The excitement of travelling, seeing cousins I hadn’t seen in months, and the communal cooking and singing made the season magical. I vividly remember decorating a small Christmas tree with whatever we could find and feeling a sense of joy and belonging.
For this particular Christmas, I am most grateful for the gift of family, good health, and the opportunity to celebrate another year surrounded by loved ones. It’s a blessing to reflect on how far we’ve come and to cherish the simple moments that truly matter.
My favourite Christmas food has to be jollof rice, especially when paired with fried chicken and plantain—there’s just something about the way it’s prepared during Christmas that makes it extra special.
This Christmas, I plan to spend quality time with my family, enjoying good food and laughter. I also hope to give back to the community by supporting those in need, perhaps through a local charity or sharing meals with less privileged families. It’s a time for gratitude and spreading love.
