SoundboyGreg set to drop Trash or Treasure

Spread the love

By Braide Damiete

Greg Eloghosa Clement, known as SoundboyGreg, is putting finishing touches to his upcoming single “Trash or Treasure,” an Afro fusion track exploring themes of self-worth. Poised to reach new heights, SoundboyGreg harbors aspirations of collaborating with Nigerian music icons like Don Jazzy, Jesse Jagz, and Wizkid.

SoundboyGreg has a story of resilience etched into his music. Born and raised in Benin City, his early life was marked by hardship. With an absent father and a strained relationship with his stepfather, Greg eventually found himself homeless, a painful experience that ultimately fueled his passion for music.

Initially, music served as an escape, a way to cope with the loneliness and uncertainty of his situation.  But it quickly evolved into his driving force, shaping his identity and igniting his dreams.

In 2023, a pivotal moment arrived when he teamed up with his friend and producer, 808ng.  Their collaboration on an EP,  blending Afro dancehall, Afro fusion, and hip-hop, provided Greg with the platform to explore his artistry.

The track “Bend It,” his first solo venture, gave him the confidence to embrace his own voice. The following year, he demonstrated his versatility with the release of “My Grind,” a trap track that showcased a new, more intense side of his musical talent. Despite his experimentation with diverse genres, his Edo heritage remains a cornerstone of his music.

More than just a musician, Greg aims to inspire. His songs carry messages of hope, self-love, and resilience, lessons learned from his own struggles.
