Carl Dean, the husband of country music legend Dolly Parton, has died at the age of 82, as announced by the singer herself.
Dolly Parton revealed her husband’s passing on Monday evening, and she added that he would be buried in a private ceremony with members of their immediate family.
The cause of death was not mentioned, but Dean was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2019.

While announcing his passing, Dolly Parton said of her spouse, “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years.
“Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.”

Carl Dean and Dolly Parton got married in 1966 after they first met in 1964. The singer had called their meeting “love at first sight.”
The bereaved family has asked for privacy as they mourn Carl’s departure.
