The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Ned Nwoko, has formerly resigned from the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), and is set to lead other bigwigs of the ruling party in Delta State to defect to the All Progressive Congress (APC). Nwoko’s letter of resignation, which was dated January 30, 2025, was addressed to the PDP chairman of Ward 08 in Aniocha Local Government Area of Delta State.

The senator stated that his exit from PDP was due to the “deep divisions and factionalisation within the party.”

Said he: “This fragmentation has made it increasingly difficult to foster unity and advance the collective interests of our people.

“Just this week, precisely on the 29th of January, the top party functionaries degenerated to the lowest levels by physically fighting themselves arising from the stated factors, which have become irreconcilable.”
