PDP govs shop for court order to hold NEC

The crisis in the main opposition political party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has taken a new twist as the party’s governors forum led by Bauchi State governor, Alhaji Bala Mohammed, is seeking an express order of the court to convene a National Executive  Committee (NEC) meeting.

Daily Sun gathered that the PDP governors have approached a Federal High Court in Gusau for an exparte order.

Available court documents showed that the opposition party’s request made on October 22, 2024, was filed by one Imam Auwal seeking a special order to ensure the NEC meeting holds to pave the way for the PDP governors to hold a NEC meeting on October 24, 2024, in an effort take over control of the party.
