Singer Davido has bared his thoughts concerning the political landscape in Nigeria, opining that the country does not have a true democracy.

The afrobeats star who was featured in a recent episode of The Morning Hustle podcast disclosed that he sent a congratulatory message to US President-elect Donald Trump following his victory over Kamala Harris.

Davido shared that his affinity for the US is the presence of true democracy unlike what is obtainable in his country.

He added that he voted for Harris as he was keen to see the first female president in his generation.

“I congratulated Donald Trump. That’s the president! What are you talking about? If I were running against him, I would still have congratulated him.

“What I like about America is that there’s true democracy. Where I come from [Nigeria], it’s not so.

“To be honest, I voted for Kamala Harris because I wanted to see the first female president in my generation. That would have been cool,” the artist stated.
