N-HYPPADEC sets Nov. 2 for distribution of YTP starter-packs

The National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) says it will start distribution of Starter-Packs to graduands of its Youth Transformation Programme (YTP).

The beneficiaries are those that have satisfied all the requirements outlined for the programme.

This is contained in a statement made available by Mr Nura Tanko Wakili, the N-HYPPADEC Head, Press and Public Affairs, on Thursday in Minna

The commission has already sent notification and invitation letters to Governors of the Six States that participated in the programme for their concurrence to the proposed dates it stated

The dates as contained in the programme iterinary indicated that the national flag-off would be conducted in Minna, Niger, on Nov. 2nd, while beneficiaries from Plateau and Benue States would receive their packs in their respective state capital on Nov. 5 and 7.

The distribution will take place in Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi State capital, for beneficiaries from the state on Nov. 9, for Kogi in Lokoja on Nov. 26, and Kwara on Dec. 1.

The statement noted that 5000 beneficiaries were trained from across the five states as indicated:

Niger- 1,623, Kebbi- 1,011, Kogi- 705, Plateau- 365, Kwara- 814 and Benue- 505.

“It is important to note that only beneficiaries of the programme duely registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, who also submitted undertaking letters from their guarantors will receive the packs.

“N-HYPADDEC restates it commitment to due diligence and meticulous processes with a view to ensuring that the objective of the programme is achieved.

“The Managing Director of the commission, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq-Yelwa, expressed his profound appreciation to the beneficiaries for their patience in spite of efforts by agents provocateur to disrupt the processes,” the stattement read in part.

While congratulating them, Sadiq-Yelwa also reassured the commission’s commitment to promoting the welfare of youths and improving their living standard.
