Joint Security Forces Neutralize 5 Bandits, Arrest 3 Logistics Suppliers in Katsina
Successful Operation in Dandume and Danmusa LGAs
A coordinated security operation in Katsina State has resulted in the elimination of five suspected bandits and the recovery of seven operational motorcycles in Wori village, Dandume Local Government Area.
Details of the Operation
According to DSP Abubakar Aliyu, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), the operation was conducted by a joint team comprising police, military, Department of State Services (DSS), Community Watch Corps, and vigilante groups.
“On April 10 at approximately 4:15 a.m., based on credible intelligence, the DPO Dandume Division led a team to a suspected bandit route at Dutsen Wori village,” Aliyu stated. “The security forces successfully ambushed the armed bandits, neutralizing five suspects and seizing their motorcycles.”
Additional Operations in Danmusa LGA
The security forces extended their operations to Unguwar Adam and Unguwar Judo villages in Danmusa LGA following DSS intelligence about bandit activities. The DPO Danmusa mobilized police operatives, Community Watch Corps, and vigilantes who engaged the criminals in a gun battle.
This second operation resulted in:
- Three suspected bandit informants and logistics suppliers apprehended
- Two operational motorcycles recovered
- Two bicycles confiscated
Police Commissioner Commends Team
Commissioner of Police Bello Shehu praised the joint security team for their professionalism and dedication. “These operations demonstrate our commitment to maintaining peace and security in Katsina State,” Shehu stated through the PPRO.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the police command’s determination to combat banditry and ensure resident safety, with ongoing efforts to apprehend remaining suspects.
