I’m of PDP but I’m supporting Nwifuru, says federal lawmaker

The Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation and member representing Afikpo/Edda federal constituency, Ebonyi State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Iduma Igariwey has reiterated his support for the All Progressives Congress(APC)-led government in the state.

The three-term lawmaker who has been in PDP since he went to the National Assembly said he was supporting the Governor Francis Nwifuru-led administration because of the peace and unity it has brought to the state.

He stated this at Dr. Sam Egwu NUJ press centre in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital at the weakened while answering questions from journalists when he attended 70th anniversary celebration of the NUJ in the country.

“My position on this state government is very well known. I am of PDP, but I support this government; I support it very vigorously. Let me use that word because I think they are following the right path.

“Time was when you would have invited me to this occasion, and I won’t be here. But I am here today because the atmosphere in the state is very peaceful, the area is calm, and people are free to go about their businesses”, Igariwey stated.

The lawmaker described NUJ as the conscience of Nigeria, noting that without the union holding the government accountable, the government would not be what it should be.

Igariwey was honoured by the union for his outstanding performance in the National Assembly.
