Nollywood actress, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha has revealed how she prepared for her role in the recently released Netflix series Seven Doors.

In Seven Doors, Akpotha plays an Igbo queen married to a Yoruba king (Femi Adebayo), bringing to life a story of royalty, kinship, family, love, treachery, and reparation. Her position needed her to speak Yoruba well.

During a TVC interview with her co-star, Femi Adebayo, the actress said she studied Yoruba expressly for her role in the series.

She said, “I had to learn Yoruba for my role in Seven Doors. The Yoruba in the movie was not the regular one spoken in Lagos State, so I had to be very particular about the tone.”

It should be recalled that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) crowned  Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha as its first Goodwill Ambassador for Nutrition in Nigeria.

The development shines a spotlight on the pressing issue of malnutrition affecting millions of Nigerians, particularly women and children.
