Spread the love

By Rita Okoye

Nollywood actress, Ella Mensah, a Ghanaian, has been absent from the silver screen since relocating to the United States.

In an interview with Sunday Sun, the curvaceous actress opened up about her career shift, Christmas plans, and what she looks for in a partner.

What are you up to lately career-wise, it has been a long time since we saw you in  movie?

Yeah, it’s been four years since I shot any movie. I relocated to the United States. I live in York City now. I have a second career now, I’m a certified surgical assistant.

What are your plans for Christmas?

My plan for this Christmas is to spend it with my family as always.

Any philanthropic gestures for the Yuletide?

No plans for that now. I just want to spend time with my family.

2025 is fast approaching; what would be your New Year’s resolution?

Well, we are not in 2025 yet, but I plan to continue with my new career as a certified surgical assistant. I also want to set new goals and start working on myself as always.

You hardly show off your relationship on social media, why?

I don’t show my relationship on social media because I’m happy in real life and don’t think I need to prove that to the world, I don’t believe in bringing strangers into my personal life. Most people already assume they know me based on my movies and content on social media (which is false cause if you are not in my inner circle, then you don’t know me). So, I like to keep my relationship and family to myself.

What kind of man turns you off?

I don’t want to have anything to do with any man who assaults women. I will never marry a woman beater. I hate men who beat women.  They are evil men, and as such, I can never be attracted to evil. That kind of men don’t have respect for their partners, and I don’t want to be associated with them in any way. I like a man who loves and respects not just his woman, but every other person outside the relationship.

How about the physical features of a man? Does it matter to you?

A man’s physical appearance is not vital to me! As long as you are a good man, I am okay with that.

His pockets must be rich too, right?

I’m rich in my way, so obviously my man can’t be poor. However, I can’t be richer than my man. It is not possible, please (laughs).

Are you currently single?

I’m in an amazing relationship and my man is amazing as well.

How has life been since relocating to New York?
Honestly, life has been amazing since I relocated to the United States. I’m much happier and healthier, my life is great. God has been so good to me. I made the best decision ever! Living here in York City has been incredible. I had a great life back home and now I have an amazing life over here in New York.

What do you miss most about Ghana?

Of course, I will always miss Ghana. I was born and raised in Accra, Ghana, so I will always miss home. I was in Ghana this July, and it was incredible and beautiful to see most of my family members and friends.
