Senate President Godswill Akpabio has warned Senator Adams Oshiomhole that he may be retired by the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo if the latter returns to the Senate.
Akpabio who spoke during the Senate’s valedictory session in honour of Okpebholo on Wednesday on the floor of the Upper Legislative Chamber expressed concern about Oshiomhole’s future.
Dismissing Akpabio’s worries, Oshiomhole disclosed that Okpebholo is from a different senatorial district.
Before becoming elected as governor, Okpebholo represented the Edo Central Senatorial District.
Speaking during the valedictory session, Akpabio stated: “Distinguished Senator Oshiomhole, before you stop, I thought he was from your senatorial district?”
“No, sir, he’s from Edo Central,” Oshiomhole responded.
Continuing, Akpabio said: “Okay, otherwise he may retire you when he comes back.”
“By the time he’s coming back, I might already be retired, because if you add eight years to the current figure, I do not intend to do three terms here,” Oshiomhole quipped.
