FG, States, and LGCs Share N1.681 Trillion April Revenue

The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed a total of N1.681 trillion in April revenue among the Federal Government, state governments, and Local Government Councils (LGCs).

Revenue Breakdown

According to a communiqué released by Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF), the allocation was finalized during FAAC’s May meeting in Abuja.

The distributable revenue comprised:

  • Statutory revenue: N962.882 billion
  • Value Added Tax (VAT): N598.077 billion
  • Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL): N38.862 billion
  • Exchange Difference: N81.407 billion

Revenue Sources and Distribution

The total gross revenue available in April 2025 stood at N2,848.721 trillion, with deductions including:

  • N101.051 billion for cost of collection
  • N1,066.442 billion for transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings

Gross statutory revenue for April was N2.084 trillion, marking a N365.595 billion increase from March’s N1,718.973 trillion. VAT revenue also rose slightly to N642.265 billion from March’s N637.618 billion.

Allocation Details

The N1.681 trillion was distributed as follows:

  • Federal Government: N565.307 billion
  • State Governments: N556.741 billion
  • Local Government Councils: N406.627 billion
  • Derivation Revenue (13% mineral revenue): N152.553 billion to benefiting states

Sector-Specific Allocations

From the N962.882 billion statutory revenue:

  • Federal Government received N431.307 billion
  • State Governments received N218.765 billion
  • LGCs received N168.659 billion
  • N144.151 billion (13% mineral revenue) went to derivation states

VAT revenue distribution:

  • Federal Government: N89.712 billion
  • State Governments: N299.039 billion
  • LGCs: N209.327 billion

EMTL allocation:

  • Federal Government: N5.829 billion
  • State Governments: N19.431 billion
  • LGCs: N13.602 billion

Revenue Performance

The communiqué noted significant increases in April for:

  • Petroleum Profit Tax
  • Oil and Gas Royalty
  • EMTL
  • VAT
  • Excise Duty
  • Import Duty
  • CET Levies

However, Companies Income Tax saw a considerable decrease.
