Every political stakeholder, including the electorate, is involved in electoral malfeasance, former First Lady of Ondo State, Dr. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has said.
Anyanwu-Akeredolu said this in an X post on Thursday, as she shared a screenshot of a 2021 story where Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, purportedly said, “It’s madness to think Nigeria will work.”
The ex-first lady said it was important to find a solution to the nation’s electoral challenges.
“Honestly, this issue raised is topical aiming to agitate like minds to discuss and find solution to our electoral misdeeds.
“Everybody in the political space including the electorate, is involved in the electoral malfeasance,” she said.
Anyanwu-Akeredolu insisted that the 2023 presidential election was a case in point where electoral malfeasance by various stakeholders raised its ugly head.
She said, “If 2023 election presidential benefitted you as an individual or group, was that the best Nigeria could offer?.
“Alas, they turned it into a tribal war of words. Nigeria is irredeemable! So sad!”
