Diddy’s time behind bars is far from over as a judge denied his bail request while noting that no conditions can assure the community’s safety.
On Wednesday, the judge stated that there is a serious risk of witness tampering and direct evidence of Combs’ violence, referring to the 2016 video clip of Diddy physically assaulting Cassie with the subsequent text messages.
The texts, which were included in the judge’s decision, reveal the content of Cassie’s message to Diddy about her injuries where she said he was “sick for thinking it’s OK to do what you’ve done.”
Furthermore, the judge also cited evidence that Diddy violated rules about communication behind bars, part of which included paying other inmates to use their Phone Access Code numbers to make calls to people not on his approved contact list.
Last week, it was reported that the embattled rapper and music mogul was in court fighting to get out of detention on a $50 million bond in the racketeering and sex trafficking case.
The judge added that another reason for him to remain locked up is “compelling evidence of Combs’s propensity for violence”.
Diddy’s earlier requests for bond were rejected by judges, with one stating that he posed a threat to the community while the other averred that he would obstruct the ongoing federal investigation and interfere with witnesses.
