Deji Adeyanju, an activist and lawyer, has alleged that prominent Nigerian musician Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, is responsible for the recent arrest of fellow artist Speed Darlington.
Adeyanju said Burna Boy is behind the harassment of Speed Darlington by the police.
Posting on X, he wrote: “Burna Boy behind the harassment of Speed Darlington by the police. This is someone who has been singing against oppression and forming junior Fela, now oppressing Akpi.”
Earlier today, men of the Imo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force arrested Darlington in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Darlington was arrested by the police while playing at a show in Owerri, only days after returning to the nation earlier this week.
Police recently arrested Darlington for allegedly cyberstalking Burna Boy.
The musician was apprehended in Lagos and transferred to Abuja before being held by the IGP’s Intelligence Response Team in the Guzape neighbourhood.
